Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2025
Vision Code is built with a privacy-first approach. We aim to collect as little data as possible, give users full control, and never monetize personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
01
Data We Collect
We may collect minimal data to operate and improve the service:
- Basic usage analytics — page visits, feature interactions, general usage patterns
- Account information — email address if you create an account
- Build activity — number of HTML files generated (used for the public build counter, never linked to your identity without consent)
We do not collect:
- Your API keys — they stay on your device at all times
- Your uploaded design images — processed locally in your browser
- Your generated HTML output — unless you explicitly save or publish it
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor
02
API Keys (BYOK)
Vision Code operates on a Bring Your Own Key model. If you use your own API key:
- Your key is stored only in your browser's localStorage
- It is never transmitted to Vision Code servers
- It is never logged, stored, or processed by us
- All API calls go directly from your browser to the AI provider
03
Public Gallery
Free tier users may have their generated outputs displayed in the Vision Code public gallery. Specifically:
- Gallery publication is opt-out — free tier outputs are public by default
- You can uncheck the gallery option on every export
- Published outputs may be visible to, cloned, or remixed by other users
- No personally identifiable information is attached to gallery outputs unless you choose a public display name
- You can request removal of your outputs from the gallery at any time
Pro and Team tier users have private exports by default — nothing is published to the gallery without explicit action.
04
Third-Party Services
Vision Code relies on the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — authentication and database. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and deployment. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — typography. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- AI providers — code generation. If you use BYOK, your requests go directly to your chosen provider and are subject to their privacy policy.
- PostHog — product analytics (if enabled). Anonymous usage data only.
We do not sell data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
05
Cookies & Analytics
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the product is used and where to improve it. This may include:
- Page view counts and navigation patterns
- Feature usage frequency
- General device and browser type (no fingerprinting)
No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. You may opt out of analytics through your browser's privacy settings.
06
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect user data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and row-level security on all database tables.
However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and to keep your API keys private. Use the service at your own discretion.
07
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of analytics and non-essential data collection
- Request removal of your outputs from the public gallery
EU users have additional rights under GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
08
Children's Privacy
Vision Code is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
09
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify users via email or an in-app notice.
